Our Williamsburg Collection features beautifully rendered 18th Century American designs which demonstrate a uniquely American perspective. Handmade of cast stone and featuring an artisanal finishing technique, each piece is designed to replicate the look of natural aging while allowing the softening effects of age and weather to add to the refine classic beauty of each piece. Our elegant and sophisticated accents combine clean lines and a sense of proportion to create a truly breathtaking piece of garden art for the discerning homeowner.
About The Materials and Finishing
All of our cast stone pieces are manufactured with a high density cast stone mix with a PSI (pounds per square inch) strength of approximately 7,500. While this high density mixture is designed to produce a strong and durable product, proper maintenance is recommended to protect your product. Our artisanal finishing techniques make every piece a uniquely beautiful original. As each patina is hand applied in a multi-step process, no two pieces will look exactly alike due to the variance in the composition of the natural materials in the cast stone. Our patinas are designed to replicate the look of natural aging, but unlike a painted finish, our patinas do not prevent the natural aging process. Any cast stone item with a patina finish will weather naturally in an outdoor environment.
About The Design
This selection from the Williamsburg Collection features true artistry in the combination of detailed etchings with form and texture. The 18th Century found gentlemen of leisure competing with each other via the expression of Taste. One’s taste in landscape décor defined one’s position in a tiered society of wealth and status. The historic uniqueness of this replicated piece lends itself to this 18th Century “competition”. The result is a garden relic that adds a true touch of functional beauty to your outdoor living area décor and is sure to be a treasured artifact for years to come.
About The Care of Your Planter
If a planter is to be left planted over the winter, it should be raised up off the ground by placing two (2) pressure treated wood strips underneath the planter, making sure not to block the drainage hole. This will allow the soil to drain and will prevent the planter from freezing to the ground.
If a planter is not to remain planted over the winter, we suggest that it be stored in a covered area where it will be protected from the elements. If a planter must be left outside unplanted, we suggest that you empty the soil and turn the planter upside down onto wood strips. Cover or wrap the planter with burlap or any absorbent material (old blanket/towel) and then wrap with dark plastic. This will prevent moisture from accumulating in the planter and decrease the risk of water absorption which, when frozen, can cause the planter to crack or break.
