About The Design
The Square Spruce 70 Gallon Rain Barrel comes flat packed and is easy to assemble in about 20-30 minutes. The collapsible packing translates into lower shipping costs. The real wood design is accented by the solid brass tap and fits in well with your natural garden setting. The barrel houses a heavy-duty PVC soft bladder for increased water pressure. All of the rain barrels come with a universal down spout connection kit that includes an overflow system that redirects water back down the downspout when the barrel is full. Rain water enters the barrel through a side entry fixture thereby eliminating the need for a screened top. This side entry allows for use of a solid spruce top on the barrel that deters mosquitoes and wildlife. Due to the unique design of the Square Spruce 70 Gallon Rain Barrel storage of the barrel during winter months is easy and compact. Simply disassemble the unit leaving the spigot and bladder attached to the front panel. Your easy to store, collapsible rain barrel will be ready for use in the spring.
About The Materials
Each barrel is made of FSC Certified Spruce Wood that has undergone a Torrefication process, a process by which very high heat draws all the moisture out of the wood. The wood has a very low uptake of moisture while in use and biological degradation is drastically slowed. This provides preservation of the wood without chemical treatment. The finished product is much lighter, does not warp nor does it attract termite and the like for 15-30 years.
