About the Molding and Finishing Process
These sturdy, cast stone pedestals are carefully handmade. First, a team hand pours the liquid cast stone mixture into the crafted mold and utilizes special techniques to remove the air bubbles, guaranteeing you a solid stone structure. Once the stone is air dried and put through an internal quality check, it is sent to the finishing department where seams are ground and any air holes caused by the pouring process are filled and smoothed.
Each cast stone piece can be left unfinished to let the beauty of the natural stone come through. For a truly unique and beautiful stone piece that compliments your décor, select from a variety of finish choices. Each finish is hand applied in a multi-step process to create a one of a kind piece of art. Select from eleven standard patina finishes, or our three new Millstone Vintage Premium Patinas; Charleston Gray, Old Magnolia, or French Quarter. These Vintage finishes give the cast stone pieces the look and charm of old stone garden ornaments.
About the Care of Your Pedestals
All of our cast stone pieces are manufactured with a high density cast stone mix with a PSI (pounds per square inch) strength of approximately 7,500. While this high density mixture is designed to produce a strong and durable product, proper winter storage is recommended to protect your product. If it is not possible to place your pedestal in a covered area where it will be protected from the elements, we suggest they be raised up off the ground by placing two (2) pressure treated wood strips underneath to keep from freezing to the ground.
