About the Material
Copperglass is a high strength material in which fibers of glass (fiberglass) is finished with a layer of real copper. This combination utilizes the positive qualities of both materials and yields a product with the elegant look of solid metal without excessive weight. Our urn is strong, durable and able to contain the proper amount of potting soil needed for your blooms without warping, cracking or splitting unlike terracotta and other materials. As our urn contains a copper layer, care should be taken not to drag the planter across hard, rough surfaces such as rocks or cement.
About the Design
Each urn is individually handcrafted and hand finished to bring out the truly unique color gradation of the copper. This color gradation difference assures that no two pieces will look the same and allows creation of a one of a kind artifact for your home or business. As with traditional copper outdoor planters, the Fluted Urns will naturally oxidize over time, creating stunning patinas and a more natural copper look. Designed to endure extreme outdoor climates, the versatility of our urns allows for usage inside your home or office as a beautiful cachepot.
Fluted Urns are available in two sizes. The small urn is 22.5”H with a top diameter of 17” and a base diameter of 10.5”. The large urn is 28.3”H with a top diameter of 22.8” and a base diameter of 11.75”.
Our planters do not contained pre-drill holes so as to not limit their use to outdoors. A drainage hole is strongly recommended for outdoor usage. To drill the hold, simply turn the planter over and place on a non-abrasive surface (an old towel works well), and drill downwards into the planter base using a 1-2” drill bit.
